Some restaurants don’t need a lot of fanfare to have a following. Without a lot of press or publicity, L’Ardoise has been quietly filling  its tables in a duplex dining room one block north of the Tuileries gardens for 15 years.
The reason it doesn’t get many write-ups is that there’s not much “new” or “exciting” to write home about. Yet at times, a delicious terrine of marinated sardines, and a great basket of bread, is all you want in an appetizer.  Crab-cakes with avocado mousse are another winner…
